Johns Hopkins University
We are collaborating with Johns Hopkins Univeristy (JHU) faculty and students in the broad area of data science. Our primary work to date has been with Alex Szalay in the Physics and Astronomy Department and Randal Burns in the Computer Science Department on the analysis of turbulence data.
Kaiserslautern Technical University
We collaborate with the Technische Universitat Kaiserslautern (Kaiserslautern Technical University) and their international graduate program. Working with Professor Hans Hagen, we provide several students a year the opportunity to live and work in Los Alamos and collaborate with both computer and simulation scientists in the areas of visualization, analysis and simulation, while attending our Data Science School. This gives us the opportunity to work with the future leaders in visualization and data analysis fields, furthering their careers, while leveraging their existing skills to support open science at LANL.
